About the product you will work on
You will work on Hatch’s AI powered video interview feedback product.
This product allows candidates to record themselves answering interview questions and receive structured, actionable feedback on their performance. That includes verbal clarity, structure, pacing, confidence, delivery, and other observable signals, not just the words they say.
The system combines video, audio, and language signals to help people improve how they show up in real interviews. It is used by individuals and by nonprofit and workforce programs supporting large cohorts of job seekers.

In this role, you will:
Design and build applied AI systems for video and audio based interview feedback
Develop models and pipelines that analyze recorded interview responses beyond text alone
Combine signals from speech, language, and video to generate meaningful performance feedback
Work closely with Product to translate human coaching concepts into machine readable signals
Evaluate model outputs for usefulness, clarity, and real world impact, not just accuracy metrics
Improve feedback quality through iteration, testing, and real user data
Partner with Infrastructure and Product Engineering to deploy models reliably at scale
You may be a good fit if:
You have experience building applied ML or AI systems used in production
You have worked with audio, video, or multimodal data, or are excited to go deep there
You are comfortable working with imperfect data and subjective evaluation criteria
You can reason about model outputs from a user and product perspective, not just a technical one
You enjoy turning ambiguous human problems into concrete system behavior
Experience with speech analysis, video understanding, or LLM based evaluation is a strong plus
